Bartosz Lasecki

Bartosz Lasecki, a Polish-American composer, guitarist, and producer, is preparing to unveil his debut solo album, <an>android/among.the<clouds>, in 2024.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Bartosz has journeyed from his origins as a classical guitarist before forging his own trajectory through composition.

​

Delving into the realms of contemporary classical, rock and electronic music, this exploration has led him to craft a mesmerizing and immersive sonic experience that skillfully weaves together diverse stylistic influences, forging his own distinctive musical voice.

​

The album's narrative tells the story of an android navigating through a virtual world, exploring themes of consciousness, emotions, and human experiences.

​

Through its intricate soundscapes and thought-provoking lyrics, <an>android/among.the<clouds> beckons listeners on an introspective odyssey. probing the boundaries and raising questions between humanity and artificial intelligence.

​

The forthcoming album's unique sound is informed by a diverse range of styles, drawing from the cinematic sound of Hans Zimmer, the rhythmic complexity of Béla Bartók, the innovative orchestration of Krzysztof Penderecki, and the minimalist patterns of Nils Frahm.

​

By fusing elements of alternative rock, electronic music and sound design, Bartosz adds a modern touch to his compositions, echoing the atmospheric textures and intimacy found in the works of composers like Ólafur Arnalds and Hania Rani.

​

Bartosz's work showcases his dedication to advancing the boundaries of contemporary music, informed by his background in composition, classical guitar, and music theory.

​

Having studied classical guitar under the guidance of Tali Roth from the prestigious Juilliard School of Music and at Mannes The New School for Music under the tutelage of David Tcimpidis and David T. Little, he has fostered a unique sound inspired by composers and bands such as Bach, Claude Debussy, Béla Bartók, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Oasis, Krzysztof Penderecki, Steve Reich, Hans Zimmer and Alexandre Desplat.

On top of that Bartosz has honed his skills through many masterclasses, music festivals, and lectures, while also gaining hands-on experience in film and tv projects.

​

Under the mentorship of renowned media composer and pianist Gordon Minette, Bartosz was introduced to the intricacies of studio workflows and composing for various media.

​

Over the years, he has honed his musical abilities and collaborated with artists from around the world, including those based in Poland, United States and the United Kingdom. He has expanded his artistic reach and continued to innovate in diverse musical landscapes.

​

At his New York-based workplace, "All About That Studio," Bartosz immerses himself in an extensive range of recording techniques, modular synthesis, and electronic experimentation. By rethinking how he approaches his own instruments, delving deep into vintage synthesizers and developing innovative sound design approaches, he masterfully integrates digital orchestration to continually evolve and refine his distinctive musical voice.

As a co-founder of the band "somuchso", currently on hiatus, alongside Maksymilian Kubis, Bartosz continues to probe diverse musical territories, both as a performer and songwriter.

 

With the upcoming release of <an>android/among.the<clouds>, Bartosz Lasecki is poised to leave a lasting impression on the music scene, bridging the worlds of classical and electronic music to create an utterly unforgettable auditory and visual experience.
